Product Name: 2009 Saturn Vue Green Line Two-Mode Hybrid
Product Description
The Green Line's 3.6-liter V6 incorporates variable valve timing and direct
fuel injection, but it doesn't require premium fuel. The Two-Mode system cuts
off fuel to the engine during deceleration and idle, and uses regenerative
braking to charge nickel-metal hydride batteries. The stored electricity powers
twin, active-cooled 55-kW electric motors integrated into the automatic
transmission. Electric-only propulsion is used for low speeds and reverse, and
energy efficient accessories contribute to the Vue's verdant namesake and
intention.
Chassis and suspension refinements accommodate the hybrid's altered weight
distribution, and an energy-flow graphic in the center console illustrates power
management. A leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio control and a
six-speaker stereo are standard, while options include navigation and power
sunroof.
