Air Conditioning system
Unlike conventional air conditioning systems, REVA promises the same
acceleration and speed even while the A/C is being used. A separate
electronically controlled motor that powers the A/C compressor ensures a more

Safety
REVA ranks high in terms of safety features and has been specifically designed
for congested city driving conditions. Designed, marketed and used as a low
speed urban commuter vehicle the Reva has a safety record second to none, with
over 20 million miles / 32 million km driven by customers globally and over
4,000 years of ownership with no reported serious injuries (As on May 2007). As
a company & through our vehicles we encourage low carbon, low speed and socially
responsible driving. The health and safety of our customers - and in fact of
everyone - is of paramount concern to us. The REVA has received Full EU (quadricycle)
Type approval which means it meets all European automotive, mechanical and
electrical standards governing safety, emissions and other relevant factors.
Front / Rear Impact
The absence of an engine and other mechanical parts in the front, facilitate a
large crush zone in case of a frontal collision. The spare tyre, designed to be
at front, further helps in reducing impact.
The special energy absorbing bumpers can withstand impacts up to a speed of 10
kmph that far exceeds regulatory requirements, retaining their original shape in
low impact situations
Overall / Side Impact
The REVA has a steel space frame that cocoons the occupants in case of a
collision.
The car is provided with dent / scratch proof ABS body panels. Use of these
materials enables small impacts to be absorbed without damage to the body panels
which bounce back to their original shape.
The large doors provided with side impact beams provide further safety to the
passengers against side impacts.
Low centre of gravity
The Power Pack position is so designed as to keep the centre of gravity low to
add further stability and safety to the vehicle.
Low voltage system
REVA uses a low voltage system (48 Volts) that is very safe. REVA has non-user
serviceable battery compartment with single point battery watering facility..
Regenerative Braking
Has dual - hydraulic and regenerative braking for added safety.
Warnings / Disables
Warning chimes are heard if the user has opened the door and left the key in the
ignition and/or handbrake is not engaged.
The REVA will not move if the system is plugged in for charging.
It has a full-throttle-disable facility that prevents any run-off of the car, in
case accelerator is pressed accidentally.
Variety of temperature cut-offs, fuses, fans and detection devices and meets EU
(quadricycle) requirements on EMC (Electro magnetic compatibility), which are
the most stringent in the world.
The intelligent car
‘Low Battery’ warning light and a fuel gauge allow easy estimation of driving
range and ensure that the user is not stranded. Two onboard computers and remote
diagnostic capabilities enable quick vehicle analysis and prompt service.
Spacious
Rear seats fold, providing extra luggage room and the large Map Pockets further
increase range of storage options.
Easy Ingress/Egress
With wide doors and higher seating position, REVA provides the most convenient
entry and exit.
High on Economy, Low on Maintenance
Operating costs work out to as low as 40 paise/km. With minimum number of moving
parts the REVA is almost maintenance free and two onboard computers improve
