Hybrid Cars and Increasing Demand for Alternative Fuels

There is an increasing demand for alternative fuels and hybrid cars in the British motor market at the moment, it has been reported.

According to statistics from British Car Auctions (BCA), diesel values at 92 per cent have gone down 3.5 points since January.

In addition, petrol values were three points lower in June, recorded at 92 per cent.

Such performance shows that there is growing demand for alternative power, commented the group.

"There is a groundswell of interest in alternative fuelled vehicles and this is reflected in the strong performance being recorded against guide values in a market that is otherwise seeing values in decline," said BCA communications director Tony Gannon.

Meanwhile, the BCA's used car index shows a quarter two value decrease to £5,532.

This is a fall of nine points, its biggest drop in three and a half years.
