Despite heavy rains and several parts failures, EV-Sport
bested all but three of the 12 entries in the battery-electric class
in the latest Tour de Sol! Shown above at our stop in Greenfield, MA
(home of NESEA), our zero-emission project car managed to cover
nearly 300 miles of steep Berkshire mountain terrain in seemingly
relentless downpours. Even with the intrepid EV-Sport Team soaked to
the bone, we achieved very respectable scores in several categories.
Most notably, we managed the emission-free equivalent of 112
miles-per-gallon! This was the second best efficiency rating in the
pure electric class! Since the cars ahead of us were all veterans of
several previous Tours, we also placed FIRST among the cars
competing in the Tour for the first time!
Hats off to John and Marte Murphy, Ezra Haines, Jen Duricko, Tom
Gaval and John Jones for there patience, ingenuity, fortitude and
team spirit. Without them EV-Sport would never have done so well!
